- Best way to fill baskets are basket bases: Made of sturdy cardboard, will not sink with products (including bottles), provide back support, store flat (take up less storage space), great time and labour savers, dark brown (work well with all colours) and are environmentally friendly. Check Saksco’s basket base listings!
- Fillers other than basket bases include Styrofoam peanuts, newspaper and tissue/shred.
- If using a filler other than basket bases, use sufficient amounts to avoid having products sink.
- Styrofoam peanuts: Fill your container with styrofoam peanuts to within 1” of the rim, and then add fancy shredded paper. Note: syrofoam peanuts are bulky, do not provide back support, and are not environmentally friendly.
- Newspaper/Tissue/Shred: Good if very large basket to fill. Readily available from local industrial supply companies. When using printed newsprint, place it in a plastic or paper bag so that the colour won't spread. Note: Can be time consuming and costly, will sink after product is placed, and no back support provided.
