If you are planning to accept orders for out of town delivery, thoughts and care are the priorities . Whether your design is to be sent 10 km or 1000, your products and enhancements must be secured before shipping. Refer to your instructional videos on how to properly build your design, and then it must be shrink-wrapped before it is over wrapped. Your gift basket has to be carefully packed into a suitable size corrugated carton. You may know which end is upright, but the carton will be on its side, upside down, traveling on a conveyor belt, and dropped before it reaches its final destination pint. Select a box that will allow at lease 4 to 6 inches around the basket to allow for adequate cushioning material to protect the basket. Using Styrofoam loose fill to protect your basket, will not only protect your design, but also because of its light weight, your shipping charges will be lower. Before sealing your carton place a duplicate shipping label inside the carton in case the outer label comes off or is damaged. Seal you carton securely closed with the proper packing tape two or more inches wide and designed for shipping. You cannot use masking or cellophane tape, string or paper over wrap. Label the carton properly using the recipient's name, complete street address including postal code or zip code, and telephone number. Remove or cross out old markings on your carton. If your cartons are well used you can take the carton apart ands use it inside out. Check with shippers to get full information on their services and rates. Familiarize yourself with their services, and what you have to do to use their service. Be familiar with how to prepare shipping documents, and the level of services available to get your shipment to its destination by the required time. If you are shipping out of the country you must prepare the necessary shipping documents and be aware of duties, taxes, and custom clearance charges. You will also have to be mindful of what items can and cannot be shipped out of province/state or out of country. Prepare yourself now before you get the order.
